Introduction
Congratulations, you
have been chosen to go back in time and interview Mohammed, the founder of
the Islam religion. Islam is the second largest world religion.
The word
Muslim means "founder of Islam". A large group of the Middle
East's population is of this culture.

The Task
As a reporter for
the Washington Post, you have been given the unique opportunity to go back
in time and interview the founder of Islam, (Mohammed). Your story will be
featured in a special edition of the Sunday paper.

The Process
While interviewing
Mohammed, you will need to ask various questions about the Muslim faith
that will be required for your article. Here is a list of questions that
you will need to ask and include in your article.
1) How and when did
the Islam faith originate?
2) What are the five
pillars of Islam?
3) What is a mosque?
4) What is the
Islamic city?
5) What is the Qur
'an?
6) What is the
Islamic society?
7) What are two
ceremonies or festivals celebrated by Muslims?
Use Microsoft Word
to type your article, when you are finished interviewing. Be sure to use
size 14 font and single space. Your paper should be a page in length which
is five paragraphs. When your article is done turn it in to your social
studies teacher.

Evaluation
Describe to the
learners how their performance will be evaluated. Specify whether there
will be a common grade for group work vs. individual grades.
