SCRIP FAQ
What is Scrip and why do you encourage Scrip participation?
BSS Scrip is a program that allows you to contribute money to our school, all while shopping for the items that you usually buy each week. BSS Scrip purchases the gift cards at a discount from UnitedScrip and sells them to you. You receive the full face value of the cards, and the profit from the UnitedScrip discount transfers to our BSS Classroom Technology Fund.
Utilizing BSS Scrip keeps our families and students from having to sell merchandise to our friends and families. No one will be asked to buy cookie dough, wrapping paper, or magazines from a BSS student!
How do I participate?
Participating in BSS Scrip is easy. There is no extra expense on your part. Simply examine your typical weekly spending pattern (gas, groceries, pharmacy, clothing, restaurants), and purchase gift cards for those expenses from BSS Scrip.
We have a large list of cards available. BSS Scrip will keep some cards in inventory so that they are available to you each day. Non-inventory cards will ordered weekly. Orders received by 9:00 a.m. on Friday will be available on the following Wednesday.
There are two ways to participate:
1. Purchase gift cards from our inventory. Our Scrip volunteers will be ready to complete inventory sales outside of the gym on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Mrs. Libera, in the office, will be able to assist you with inventory sales during school hours. 2. Complete a BSS Scrip Order Form, enclose payment and order form in an envelope marked "Scrip," and send it to school with a student on any day of the week. All orders will be compiled on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. for our weekly UnitedScrip order. Please indicate on your order form your preferred method of delivery...you may pick up your order in the office or we will send it home with your child in the Wednesday folder.
How much does BSS Scrip earn from each gift card?
The profit amount varies according to the card. Our list of cards shows the profit percent and actual dollar profit for each card available. Our earning potential is limitless! The more you utilize our Scrip program, the more we earn for our Classroom Technology Fund.
Can our extended family and friends participate?
Absolutely! Each BSS Scrip order adds to our Classroom Technology Fund, regardless of who orders! Encourage friends and family to participate by purchasing cards from inventory or by placing weekly orders. Please let friends and family members know to indicate on their order form their preferred method of delivery...they may pick up their order in the office or we will send it home with the student of their choice in the Wednesday folder.
